Students' Union Update 📢
Join the Community Circles Group Chats 📱
A Community Circle is a space for students with shared lived experiences to find their people and build community and friendships across the university. Our next meet-ups will be in December.
In the meantime, you can join our group chats to start connecting with people from across the university! The link is at the end of this email.
Little Acts of Joy, upcoming events 🍬
Hopefully, you’ve all seen us spreading the joy with our Little Acts of Joy initiative. We have three more events in November, including a Pick ’n’ Mix stand on the 6th of November. Keep an eye on our social media for more details.
Black History Month Movie Night ❤️💛💚
There’s still time to sign up for our BHM Movie Night, where we’ll be watching Sinners. Sign up via our website and join us on the 28th of October at Duke Street Lecture Theatre at 5pm.
Movember 🥸
Movember at NASU isn’t just about moustaches; it’s about the stories behind them. The ones that don’t always get seen, heard, or spoken about.
This year, we want to recognise that societal expectations around masculinity can make it harder for men to open up about what they’re going through, physically or mentally. We’re also shining a light on the pressures that often go unseen, the quiet weight of having to be “fine” when you’re not.
Throughout the first two weeks of November, we’ll be hosting a range of events highlighting hidden strengths and showing all students that they can find their voice here at the SU.
You can sign up to all our events via our website.
Student Reps 💬
Over the past month, you will probably have seen a member of the SU pop into one of your classrooms to run Student Rep elections. Thank you so much to everyone who put themselves forward, and congratulations to those that won. Following the Rep training that took place last week your Reps are fully up and running, so please do feel free to approach them with suggestions, concerns, and ideas for how to make your course even better. To find out who your reps are you can visit the SU Website : Student Reps @ Norwich University of the Arts
SU Autumn By-Elections 🧑⚖️
Last week we held elections for several SU part-time officer roles and for SU Trustees. Thank you very much to everyone who put themselves forward, we saw some great manifestos, posters, and conversations with students. We will be holding our full SU Elections for the next academic year in April 2026, so if you would like to run for a role, keep your eyes open for information in the new year. I'm excited to confirm the following new Part-Time Officers:
· BAME Students' Officer | Amber Robinson
· Undergraduate Students' Officer | Alex James
· Year Zero Students' Officer | Isaac Noel
· SU Student Trustee | Leah Jobson
· SU Student Trustee | Emma Tapsell
Academic Affairs & Representation Council (AARC) 📚
On Wednesday, 29th October, we’re holding our first AARC of the year. This is a forum open to all students to discuss academic issues and the student voice within the university. All Student Reps and Part-Time Officers will be attending, so it’s a great opportunity to meet your representatives.
We’ll be providing free pizza (first come, first served), so please send us an email at studentsunion@norwichuni.ac.uk to let us know you’re coming so we can plan for numbers.
If you have a topic you would like to see discussed at AARC, you can file a motion here: Democratic committees @ Norwich University of the Arts
AARC | DS20 (Duke Street) | 2pm, Wed 29th October 2025
Night-Time Safety Kits 🌚
A huge thank-you to everyone who filled out our survey about Night-Time Safety Kits, your feedback has been so helpful! Students will soon be able to collect these kits from our SU space on the top floor of Bank Plain, and we’ll also be handing them out at future events!
Congratulations to Sara Ahmed, winner of the £20 gift voucher for completing the survey.
