A highlight of Norwich University of the Arts is their encouragement to students to explore, strengthen, and develop their creative practice. The addition of a ceramic studio would further enhance this, as well as, drawing in prospective students with a ceramics background or interest.
As students passionate about exploring diverse mediums and expanding creative horizons, we believe it is essential for Norwich University of the Arts to establish a dedicated pottery studio. This facility would not only support students who wish to delve into the art of ceramics, but also attract new prospective students looking to pursue ceramics at our university, enhancing our community's creative diversity.
However, pursuing ceramics outside of University is often difficult and almost impossible for students to have access too. This is due to the high costs associated with memberships or long week courses to access specialised equipment. This limits opportunities for students to explore this form of art, develop relevant skills, and incorporate ceramics into their broader artistic practice.
This addition would compliment our existing courses, allowing students to broaden their practice and gain new skills that are transferable even after University.
We urge Norwich University of the Arts to consider our request for a pottery studio. This initiative would significantly enrich the academic and creative experiences of current and future students. We believe that investing in such resources will reinforce the University’s commitment to nurturing versatile and innovative artists.
Please consider our request- we are interested in discussing this further with you.
