STUDENTS' UNION UPDATES - 2ND of March

Friday 27-02-2026 - 13:10

The Countdown Is On -

Right, you have less than five days to get your nominations in for our SU Officer Elections. We know we’ve mentioned it a lot, but we don’t want you to miss out on this incredible opportunity.

Remember, we have two full-time paid President roles that any student can run for. This is your chance to secure full-time employment, add a ton of skills to your CV, and make real change at Norwich Arts. Not to mention, it can be pretty fun!

If you’re not ready for a President role but still want to get involved, don’t worry. We have 13 part-time roles available, including Student Governor (who sits on the University Board) and Student Trustee (where you sit on the SU Board). Imagine adding board-level experience to your CV while you’re studying for your degree.

We understand this is a big decision, and we’re here to help. Drop us an email or Instagram message to ask any questions or book in a chat with our SU team. You can also click here at the end of the email to find more information and nominate yourself. Nomination Info @ Norwich University of the Arts

President’s Themed Thursday -

Join Daniel and Indi for President’s Themed Thursday on 12 March from 12:30–1:30pm at the SU Loft for a free Oreo taste test. Come and try five different Oreo flavours (these aren’t your everyday classics)! Once you’ve sampled them, let us know which one is your favourite. We’ll have 50 of each flavour available, so it’s first come, first served. Stop by at lunchtime and treat yourself!

LAOJ Upcoming Events -

This week, SU staff will be randomly popping up across campus handing out 100 snack bags. Each bag includes a voucher for a free regular hot drink or iced coffee from Flour & Bean. Keep an eye out between lectures and you might be one of the lucky 100 to grab a bag.

Join us on Thursday 12th March for our Little Acts of Joy Pub Quiz. Use this link Little Acts of Joy - Quiz Night to grab a free ticket. In teams of six, you’ll take on our fun-filled rounds and hopefully leave with a prize. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Towards the end of the month, LAOJ is teaming up with your Presidents, Daniel and Indi. We’ll be handing out over 500 Easter eggs! We may be going slightly over the top with this one, but Daniel and Indi insisted we buy as many eggs as possible. More details coming soon, make sure you follow us on Instagram.

Nighttime Safety Kits Are Back!

Since September, our Student Project Assistant, Becca, has been delivering work focused on alcohol harm reduction. After collecting student feedback, Becca created a Nighttime Safety Kit that includes students’ recommendations such as a whistle, testing strips, bottle toppers, and condoms. The kit also includes informative leaflets about alcohol and safety.

These safety kits are currently available in the SU Loft in Bank Plain, so come along and pick one up.

Becca’s next project focuses on understanding our students’ relationship with alcohol. If you would like to help us gain valuable insight, you can complete the survey here - NASU Student Alcohol Intake Form – Fill in form -

Disclaimer: This survey touches on topics including alcohol, spiking, and personal experiences. You can skip any questions you feel uncomfortable answering. Please reach out if you are affected by any of the topics covered.

Spill the Socie-tea -

This is the final week to fill in the Spill the Socie-tea survey! A big thank you to all the students who have already completed it.

This survey is open to all students, even if you’ve never attended a society before. By taking part, you could win one of our fantastic giveaway bundles, such as a cold brew kit, a matcha starter kit, or free tickets to a tea blending workshop hosted by Bird & Blend.

The survey closes at midday on March 6th, and the link to take part can be found here - Spill the Socie-tea 2025/26 – Fill in form

Women’s History Month -

In March, we celebrate Women’s History Month. This year, your Women’s Officer, Amy, has organised two events to mark the occasion.

On the 12th of March, we are running an informative seminar on cervical screenings with a former nurse and trustee of UK Cervical Cancer. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about cervical health and what to expect from a screening appointment.

On the 23rd of March, you can join us for our Women’s History Month cinema experience. There will be pizza, snacks, and soft drinks as we watch Barbie (2023)!

Tickets are now available, and you can book on here - WHM: Demystifying Cervical Screenings with UK Cervical Cancer Charity . Please note that booking is required for both events. See you there!
