Welcome back! 👋

Freshers Update 🪩

Thank you all for coming along and making Freshers so amazing! It was wonderful to meet all the new students and see some familiar faces back on campus. It’s been a busy week filled with grabbing freebies, exploring Norwich, and taking part in fun activities.

In total, there were over 4000 attendances at our events, with most events of them selling out.. We were thrilled to welcome 1,002 of you to our Freshers Fair, and we hope you had the chance to chat with the 13 local businesses, connect with our student societies, and collect lots of freebies.

If you were unable to take part in Freshers this year, don’t worry, we have plenty more events lined up for you. Keep an eye on our social media and website for updates.

We’d love to hear your feedback! Your input will help us improve our events throughout the year and make next Freshers even better. Plus, one lucky student who completes this form will win a Freshers essentials hamper, including a £20 voucher.

Society News 🎸

Hopefully, you had a chance to chat with some of our amazing societies at the Freshers Fair on Friday! If you didn’t manage to stop by but still want to learn more about a society or how to join, you can visit our website. Many of our societies also have their own social media accounts, so give them a follow for more updates.

If you didn’t find a society that suits you, there’s always the option to start your own. It’s a super easy process, and all the information on how to do this can be found on the Clubs and Societies page of our website.

Remember, you can join a society at any point during the year, and you don’t have to be a first year to sign up

Rep Info 👩‍💻

Rep Elections are here, and we’re looking for students who want to represent the interests of their course and peers. The main responsibilities of a Student Rep include being a welcoming and approachable point of contact for fellow students, regularly meeting with course leaders to share feedback (both positive and constructive), and attending termly Student Rep Group (SRG) meetings with other reps and the university’s senior leadership team.

Some of you may have already had a visit from a Students’ Union team member last week to explain how to become a Student Rep. Congratulations to those who have already been elected! If you haven’t heard from us yet, don’t worry, someone from the SU team will be dropping into one of your lectures this week to run a rep election.

In the meantime, if you'd like more information about the Student Rep role, head over to the Student Voice section of our website.
